Pondy and the French Connection

0

Last month I was lucky enough to get an opportunity to travel to Pondicherry with my mother!

We took a flight from Mumbai to Chennai and hired a car at Chennai airport to drop us to Pondy.  On our way we visited Mahabalipuram as well.

Mahabalipuram, also known as Mamallapuram in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, is around 60 km south from the city of Chennai. It is an ancient historic town made up of mostly rock-cut monuments clearly spelling Buddhist elements in their design.  Mahabalipuram is very close to the sea and has beautiful cave temples, chariots and sculpted rock-cut walls.

The following 4 days in Pondicherry were filled with amazing French, Franco-Tamil and Chettinad cuisine.

Pondicherry has a lot to offer actually… from clean beaches to French colonial architecture, from pretty lanes, to backwaters, from forts to churches and from great shopping markets to Auroville… there’s really a lot to see and do.
